Materials: 1/2 oz. purple worsted weight yarn

Small amounts white and red worsted weight yarn

Size H crochet hook

Scrap of red felt

2 small black half-beads for eyes

Fiberfill stuffing

Size: 4″ tall

Note: Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Rnd 1: With red, ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 1, 6 sc in ring, join w sl st in 1st sc (6 sc).

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same sc, 2 sc in next sc and in each sc around, join w sl st in 1st sc (12 sc).

Rnds 3 and 4: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, fasten off after Rnd 4 (12 sc).

Rnd 5: Join white w sl st in 1st sc of Rnd 4, ch 1, sc in each sc around, join as before (12 sc).

Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join as before (12 sc).

Rnd 7: Ch 1, sc dec over 1st 2 sc and over next 2 sc around, join as before, fasten off (6 sc).

Stuff head. Continue stuffing doll as work progresses.

Rnd 8: Join purple w sl st in 1st sc of Rnd 7, ch 1, sc in same sc, 2 sc in next sc and in each sc around, join as before (12 sc).

Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in 1st sc, 2 sc in next sc, * sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, * rep from * to * around, join as before (18 sc).

Rnds 10-11: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join as before (18 sc).

Rnd 12: Ch 1, sc in 1st 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, * sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, * rep from * to * around, join as before (24 sc).

Rnd 13: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join as before (24 sc).

Rnd 14: Ch 1, sc in 1st 3 sc, sc dec over next 2 sc, * sc in next 3 sc, sc dec over next 2 sc, * rep from * to * around, sc in last 4 sc, join as before (20 sc).

Rnd 15: Ch 1, sc in 1st 3 sc, sc dec over next 2 sc, * sc in next 3 sc, sc dec over next 2 sc, * rep from * to * around, join as before (16 sc).

Rnd 16: Ch 1, sc in 1st 3 sc, sc dec over next 2 sc, * sc in next 3 sc, sc dec over next 2 sc, * rep from * to * around, sc in last sc, join as before (13 sc).

Rnd 17: Ch 1, sc in 1st 2 sc, sc dec over next 2 sc, * sc in next 2 sc, sc dec over next 2 sc, * rep from * to * around, sc in last sc, join as before (10 sc).

Rnd 18: Ch 1, sc dec over 1st 2 sc and over next 2 sc around, join as before, fasten off, leaving an 18″ length of yarn for sewing. Sew bottom of Rnd 18 closed.

Scarf: With red, ch 25, fasten off. Glue or tack scarf to doll as shown.

Hat brim: With red, ch 16, fasten off. Glue ch around Rnd 4 of hat.

Cut a 3/4″ tall heart from red felt. Glue to front of doll as shown.

Glue eyes to doll as shown.

Let dry.
