Free Hippo Crochet Pattern

Greetings, everyone! Today, I’d like to share my hippo pattern with you. I think this would make a nice fridgie. Can anyone else think of any better ideas for it?

Materials:

Small amounts worsted weight yarn in gray and white

Size H crochet hook

2 small black half beads for eyes

Size: 2 1/8″ tall

Rnd 1: With gray, ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join w sl st in 1st dc (12 dc).

Row 1: Ch 1, sc in same dc and in next 2 dc, fasten off (3 sc).

Row 2: Join gray w sl st in 1st sc of Row 1 (right side facing), ch 1, sc in each sc across, fasten off (3 sc).

Row 3: Join white w sl st in 1st sc of Row 2 (right side facing), ch 1, sc in same sc, fasten off. Sk next sc, join white w sl st in next sc, ch 1, sc in same sc, fasten off (2 sc “teeth”).

Weave in ends.

Glue eyes to hippo as shown.

Let dry.
